We cycled 100 miles for Pendleside Hospice
Twelve of us, four punctures, two cake stops, and £4,250 raised for Pendleside Hospice. Here's how the day went.
Pendleside Hospice has been there for too many of our clients and their families over the years. When the team voted on this year's charity push, the answer was obvious — and so was the route: Burnley to Settle and back, 100 miles, one Saturday in February when the weather absolutely refused to cooperate.
Highlights:
- Ian and Emily led from the front (predictably).
- Aaron's puncture in Gisburn turned into a 25-minute roadside committee meeting.
- The cake stop in Settle deserves its own dedicated post.
- Gina crossed the line first; Ben disputes the timing.
Huge thank-you to every single client, supplier and friend who sponsored us. Donations are still open via the hospice's JustGiving page — and we'll let you know in the autumn what next year's challenge looks like.
